Nose piercing is now very popular among a lot of people who are into body arts. People have either been putting fake nose rings to give a more creative style to their fashion or are really having their nose pierced. Nose piercing could be done in different ways. First, you can have your nose pierced in the septum of your nose. Second, you could pierce the bridge of your nose. Third, you could pierce the curve part of your nose. Your nose pierce would heal in about an average of 16-24 weeks or 24-36 weeks depending on which part of your nose you wanted to be pierced with. The shortest period would have to be 6-12 weeks for healing. During these times, it is very important to have everything around you cleaned and sanitized. You have to be able to give your nose pierce tender care so that you will prevent any damage or infection to the wounded area.


There are a few important things which you have to learn in order for you to make sure that your nose piercing is safe from any kind of infection. These are a few things that you have to remember:

1.Always make sure that you wash your hands before you touch your nose ring jewelry/nose piercing.

You have to be able to clean your nose piercing for at least three times a day. Do this by soaking a fresh cotton ball with a sterile saline solution. Make a slight rotation of your nose ring jewelry and make sure that you are able to get the saline soaked cotton balls into the hole of your nose piercing as well. Get as fresh cotton cloth, soak it with saline solution and gently clean the screw or the clasp of the nose ring jewelry inside of your nostril. Do not scrub your nose ring jewelry. This could cause damage to the tissue and start an infection. Use a fresh paper towel and gently pat dry the area after cleaning. You could also try to just hold the paper towel in the area and let it dry up the moisture.

2.If plausible, you have to avoid sleeping with your face on.

Change your pillowcase every once in a week to avoid or minimize your exposure to bacteria.

3.Protect your immune system.

You should drink vitamin supplements which contain vitamins C, B-12, and Zinc in order to support your immune system. The purpose of protecting your immune system is to prevent your body to get any respiratory illness, such as cough or cold, which would definitely be an inconvenience as you try to heal your nose piercing.

4.Avoid touching your nose ring jewelry and/or changing it every few months.

These actions might cause damage to the cartilage of your nose. It might give you granuloma, a mass of granulation tissue which is typically produced because of infections, inflammation, or the presence of any foreign substance which could be harmful to the body. One you acquire such illness, it will be difficult for you to take it off and heal your nose piercing.
